Supervision: Best Practices
In Best Practices we will focus on ways to enhance our traditional modes of supervision. As we address each topic we will consider the basics and then examine best practice strategies. Major topics will include unconscious bias (blind spots) of supervisors and supervisees, layers of supervisee development, administrative responsibilities, and living with regulation constraints and risk management. We will also address the importance of experiential activities for supervisees as a complement to traditional didactic interventions. In addition to the lecture presentation, the workshop will include video examples and practice vignettes. |
